My Friends Got A D15B7 In His Hatch With A PM6 ECU, And It Wont Rev Out It Revs To 6850 All Day. Its In Time And Temperature Sensor Works Any Idea In What May Be The Problem??
What he means is that a pm6 ecu has 3 rev limiters cold 6850, semi warm 7000, an fully warme up the limiter is 7500.
What he is trying to explain is that he cant hit the 7500rpm rev limiter it always stops him at 6800 rpms

lol!
sounds like it aint going past cold rev limit for some reson,my dohc zc wont heat all the way up and it wont go past cold revs,i just rasied the cold rev limit to macth the hot limit problem solved.

People and their damn redlines, you do realize that your prob not making power above 6800 rpms anyways with a stock cam thus no real reason to rev to the moon other then to float a valve eventually and sound "cool"

you dont make power past 6800 rpm. so what is the point to taking it past that. if the motor was built with the proper valve, spring. ret, and had a cam i could understand pushing a bit more with your rpm but on a stock motor? so go ahead and make fun of me all you want i dont really care....your not gunna hurt my feelings lol

u need a chip ecu and in the bin u got a hot and cold rev limit.you need to go in the rom and reset the cold rev limit same as the hot one.the cold rev limit is there so on a cold start u dont overev the motor and low out the headgasket.

WRONG AND RIGHT
the resaon people rev past the rpm where there power stops is because when u shift at 6800 your rpms will drop to low then if your shifting at 7400.but on the other hand u are right anything past 6800 rpms you dont do nuttin but rev it out.andi agree if u over rev the motor it will see vlave float at like 8k on stock valvetrain.

hate to say this but if my car woudlnt do something it was designed to do from the factory id consider it a problem, hindering performance potential of the engine/car.
just cause it doesnt make power past 6800 doesnt mean its ok for something not to function the way it was designed to operate. You all need to focus on the core of his problem and not your opinions that have nothing to do with his needs.
MY suggestion is check the harness maybe the harness has poor connection form the temp sensor and the voltage drop is too large so the computers not getting a proper voltage reading. also check your thermostat possibly its opening too soon and the cars not reaching proper temperature.
