some ?'s regarding non-vtec ls building.
i am trying to get the everything together for a non-vtec ls build. i currently have stock ls in a eg. i know already this is not the most practical thing to do and with the money i could get a ls/vtec...but i already have almost all the parts. my plan is stage two cams/valvetrain, pr3's on ls rods with arp rodbolts, pnp, camgears, i/h/e, IM, s100.
#1. what should i do to the block for these pistons to go in. should it get honed. would it need boring.
#2. will i need to replace oil pan gasket or head gasket.
#3. what should be the new redline. should it be higher due to the rod bolts or does the power band start cutting off at a certain point.
#4 any other advice on this build on what i should do.
