loosing power when braking and turning
I bought a 94 4ws prelude about a week ago and its a joy, but it just has one problem when i turn hard it wants to stall out or drop to low rpms (almost stalling) or when coming to a stop the rpms dip way down then gradually pick back up . It has headers ,intake and exhaust which the resonator has a hole in it and the battery is a little small but had it checked and it is okay.
Could the bearing in the power steering pump be done? Where its causing soo much parasistic lag where it would cause the motor to stall?
At idle turn the wheel from one side to another and see how the RPM's drop. If they only drop a hundred or so at idle the pump is fine.
Does it throw a cel code when you stall out?
I suggest jumpering the blue service connector inbehind your radio bezel (down by the gas pedal) and looking for cel's right after you stall. You could probably even check now as the ecu has a memory and might be storing it.
Other than that I don't know what to think. We need to figure out if something is cutting out. Either fuel or spark could be the problem as well.
Also maybe try running the car with excessive loads. Turn on all power options, turn on AC and see how it idles. Try turning steering wheel again from side to side (all the way) and see if it bogs or stalls out. It should idle around 750 and drop maybe 100 or so when at stop/idle while turning the wheels.
