tachometer not moving

tachometer not moving

this has been happening for past year just never got around to askin about it. My tach wont move when the car is running unless i give the cluster a good whap then the needle reads just fine. Any ideas?

check the wireing on the back of the cluster maybe even the cluster is going out.
