Default Honda Civic Random Horn/Alarm Beeping while Parked

I have a Honda Civic 2008 and it will randomly beep like the car alarm is going off for a few seconds and then stop. And then it will do it again - all while parked in the garage. It's actually annoying to hear your car beeping randomly from far away and you know it's yours.

It only goes off for a second or two so it's not a huge problem. But I just don't want to annoy my neighbors in case they are in the garage while my car is beeping like it's alive.

Anybody have similar issues with this model? thanks for any feedback!

Never heard of it, is yours installed with the Honda alarm system at the dealer?

But from the sound of it, it will be hard to reproduce that problem at the dealership. If they can't do nothing, I would start by trying to figure out if it's the car or your keys first. I have never open my key remote before but if there is a battery in there, try disconnect it and see if problem still there. If it is then you can assume it's something with the car and not the remote.

Good advice. Something that small does it sometimes. My friend's Accord kept doing a similar action. All he did was open up his key, take the battery out, and put it back in. It hasn't done it since.

If you can't figure it out, bring it back to Honda.

Are you parked in a public garage? Maybe someone is screwing with you car.
