ive got a magic rpm range where if i hold it between 2300 and 2700 it will surge down to idle and then right back up, it is cutting my fuel injectors and will continue to cut the fuel on and off as long as i hold it there. ive replaced my IAC and i dont know where to go next. when driving beteen this rpm range if i hold it steady the car starts to surge as if it was going to stall.

 

I would check your tps and your map sensor.

and I recognise surge and stall to be complete opposites.

Could be a vacuum line if it is surging.

 

from what I understand from his post....it is NOTHING like that, and you should really get that checked out.

 

its not my tps because ive changed it and its been checked by a mechanic to be positioned properly, i havent checked my Map sensor yet, but im not throwing any codes. the mechanic said it could be my idle air controller or my fast idle because when he changes my idle, it changes the surge location (ex moves from 2300 to 2500) i added a couple aftermarket items and someone told me my ecu my need to be reset back to default because i had no backpressure for a while. im using a rediculous amoutn of gas, and no local mechanics can figure this out. it makes it so hard to drive
