Default 96 or 98 Spec transmission for B18c ?

Hello I have a JDM GSR b18c and it's paired with cable LS transmission. I didn't think it would have made such a difference, but it's horrible falling out of vtec when shifting gears. My engine has CTR intake cam, intake/headers/exhaust, skunk2 intake manifold, with a port matched 64mm throttle body and street tuned on crome.

I am getting innovative motor mounts and new clutch and want to go hydro transmission. I have been wanting to get a 96 spec R tranny because of dual synchros and LSD and super short gears. But would I benefit anything at all from getting a 98 R tranny with 4.7FD or would I still be as fast with a 96 spec R tranny and save the extra $400 ?

Help me out and please only people with experience no talking with no experience.

Thanks!!

the 98 spec 1st , 2nd , and 3rd gears are great but i m not really a fan of its 4th and 5th due to it being GSR specs. Id much rather get a 96 spec and have a 4.7 final installed

i would get the 96 spec and save the extra $400 if i were in your position though , u can install the 4.7 final in the future
