I am going to a nearby import junkyard tomorrow and i need to know the differences between all these. i want to do the b18 swap. just the 1.8L DOHC non VTEC. whats the code for that? im confused with all the b18a/b/c and the numbers and stuff. if any one could help me out thanks.

b18c5 - Integra type R
b18b - integra LS non Vtec
b18a - no clue

no the b18a makes more around 130....i know because i got one in my 1989 DX

 

I does make 130 HP cause the intake manifold is longer on it. Just swap it for a shorter one and you should make 140 HP after! My friend has one in his car and we did the swap. Pretty straight forward!

 

Is there any tq diff from the b18a vs b18b?

 

Here's what I found for info:

2nd gen teg engine specs - 90-91
130 hp @ 6000 rpm
121 lbs.-ft. (16.8 kg-m) @ 5000 rpm

The other 2nd gen teg specs - 92-93
140 hp @ 6300 rpm 160hp @ 7600 rpm
126 lbs-ft (17.4 kg-m) @ 5000 rpm
