I took off my valve cover to re-paint it and cut it for my camgears and I saw that:




My intake cam is [freak]ed up... what can be the cause? this part of the camshaft doesnt touch NOTHING so how can it do that help me please. These are the OEM camshaft from the b18b, I have some crower 403 to put in soon but I need to know first why this happen

 

Is that ground flat? If so, that did not happen while in the engine.

 

if i remember right, i think mine were like that too

 

its like that all over the cam shaft at the same place, its like a line and at both extremity its more [freak]ed up, if you look closer you can see there's a hole on both side.. the problem is that this part doesnt go in contact with nothing in the engine. Its look like if it was rubbing on something..

Don't worry: my French is nonexistent.

Perhaps theat was a casting mark where they ground it away. Don't know for sure.

 

The hole on the gear's side should be for lining them TDC.
