Default B20 vtec camshaft timing

i have read in several threads that ls and crvtecs are not truly in time when you assemble the motor without adjustable cam gears. so ive been wondering if i need to adjust my camshaft timing on my B20vtec. my simple setup is a stock B20B4 block with stock gsr cams in a gsr head with upgraded valvetrain. how would i correctly set the cam timing? is there a commonly known retard/advance on the intake and/or exhaust cam? or does it have to be determined some other way?

also, i have tried the search feature and cant find anything on this subject, all i get is timing belts for sale....haha

thanks
