Default Desiccant filters for air compressor lines

Posted this in the Paint & Body forum, but it seems like most people in there are concerned with painting valve covers.

Anyways, I'm in the middle of painting my engine bay but the humidity here has been at least 70% for the past few weeks and doesn't look like it'll be dropping any time soon. I have the primer down right now, but I'm concerned about the paint starting to fisheye because of water in the lines/compressor tank. Has anybody in here ever used a desiccant filter on their air lines, whether it be for painting or just for air tools in general?

Here's a link to something I'm thinking about picking up:

I've used several brands of desiccant filters and was happy with all of them. I do powder coating, not painting, but its the same issue (powder is a bit more forgiving). If you get it from a reputable paint supplier, it should be fine. God knows, we get some crazy humidity here in Texas.

I think I'm going to order the one linked above. I called some local paint supply stores today and they sold desiccant filters, but they were all around $300. I'm thinking that they have much larger units they're using.

My only other option is to swing by Harbor Freight tomorrow and see if they have any of the filters listed on their website in stock.

I haven't actually used them yet... but this was the do it yourself 3 step filtration system I purchased:

I am aiming to be painting before the end of the month so I'll know soon enough how well they work.

That filter looks like one of the ones they sell at Harbor Freight. I'm heading over there on my way home today to check them out.

Picked up two of the disposable Harbor Freight ones on the way home today, going to give them a shot and see how they do.

I've used those before and they were fine for powdercoating. Just don't be stingy - swap them out when you notice the color change.
