01 CRV-shifting issue. Please help
01 CRV 28k.
It has the CVT transmission. When accelerating, it acts like it doesn't want to shift, so extra acceleration is needed to get it into the next gear. I'm not sure what the RPM's are getting up to while this occurs, but it sure is annoying. It doesn't do it ALL the time, just somewhat frequently. Transmission fluid isn't low, and is relatively new. Any thoughts?
It pretty much just climbs in RPM's, and doesn't shift to the next gear, typically between 2nd and 3rd I believe.
Thanks.

Is it 2wd or RT-AWD?
Was the fluid flushed, or was it removed and replaced?
What kind of transmission fluid was used?
How long has it been in there?
Do you manually shift the car?
Check into TSB No: 16100 NHTSA No: 615815 and TSB No: 060103 NHTSA No: 10002699
I'd venture to say bad Transmission control module, but the local dealer would probably be able to help you a little better.

So on a flat land, regular commute without hills it is still common?
Splaturn-2WD. I'm not sure on fluids. It's my moms vehicle. Honda does all her maintenance, and the mileage is very low for an 01, so there should be nothing majorly wrong. It is never manually shifted.

I have a 99 and it does the same thing sometimes. The program is really sensitive. What could be happening is a sensor issue somewhere else on the engine. The program takes sensor inputs from other places and calculates if the vehicle is on a hill or not.
And by Hill I mean even something small enough you wouldn't really strain on a bycicle to climb. Especially if you mess with the gas pedal a lot.
