That seems to be normal. My rex sits a little above 13 at idle and jumps up to 14.x when i tap the throttle. I am running an average sized amp to 4 component speakers. Also I read in my shop manual that the crx also has a circuit that drops the output voltage under certain conditions. I believe it had something to do with economy.

its just that during idle it really doesnt spin the alt enough. The easiest way to go about it is to put a larger crank pulley like a b20 to overdrive it or just raise the idle to 1,200 or so

Get yourself a capacitor, or a optima battery, or a larger AMP alt.

your dimming lights isnt because of your voltage level it has to do with your amprage...how do u have everything wired? if you dont have i wired right you can have 12 batteries and it wont do ****

hahaha that's going into my sig.

get a deep cycle battery. ones for boats and stuff, they draw the power out differently or something. i had a celica with one and also had 4, 15's in it once and the lights never dimmed ever.

nice subs... what i did in my van to stop the dimming of the lights (two phoenix gold octain R 10d subs in a ported box pushin 400+watts per sub, wired in parallel VC so it's runnin @ 2 ohm, plus a 4ch amp to the speakers) was i added a kinetic battery to my charging system. it's the equivalent to 200+ farads. never had a problem since. and trust me, my stuff would dim WAY down when i was drivin at night. i also upgraded my alt power wire from 10g to 4g. helped alot
