Default What seat should I get?

I have decided that I will go for Porterfield R4S or Axxis brake pads, and now I need a seat for my car, the CRX DX seats aren't cutting it. I have looked at OMP and Sparco, and think i will choose from these 2.

Here is sparco: http://www.sparcousa.com/seats_competition.asp
Here is OMP: http://www.ompwins.com/html/page4.htm

For Sparco, I am looking at either the Pro 2000 or the Evo.
For OMP, I am looking at either the ARS or the Grip.

What is your guys' experience with seats, do you recommend others? What do you think of these seats? thanks

Are you looking for a race seat or a street seat? Here's what I have going in my CRX this weekend. It's ugly, but super light, and surprisingly comfortable. I'm going to add a little more foam padding on the headrest. It's a Kirkey Speedway Deluxe Layback.

Scooby Doo not included.

Go to "Busch" and it'll be the only recommended seat. Retail is $275 bare, then $80 more for the tweed cover and foam. I got mine used for $50 and a broken stock neon cd player, shipped

But of those you picked, get the Sparco, their quality is great. Avoid colors though, as they fade fast. Stick to black or grey.

Yeah you're right...that is fuggin' ugly!!! But who cares...if it's functional, then there ya go...plus, you got a hell of a deal on it. If it does the job, more power to you!

I ran NEX seats, till they got stolen, they were nice and only 400 shipped for the pair. Id go with the cheaper of the 2. Sparco is a bigger name, but both are built to race spec. So it really dosent matter...

Look into Sabelt seats..they are way cheap, and most are FIA homologated.

But you do have to order them from overseas. But most dealers overseas are used to US people ordering thier seats. But Sabelt seats are more rare in the states than say, Recaro, Momo, Corbeau, Sparco, etc..

The Sparco's are sweet. How much do you drive your car? I run Momo T-Frames in my car but I don't daily drive the car, only to and from the race track. For a daily driver, deep bucket race seats are a major PITA to get in and out of frequently. They also don't hold up well to frequent use like a factory seat.

Sabelt = Sparco

Same company.

And Sabelt only makes harnesses, not seats AFAIK.

I have a Momo Rookie in my ITC CRX and it is plenty comfortable on the track. Car is not a daily driver so not sure how easy to get in and out of constantly.

I think you are incorrect. To the best of my knowledge Sparco simply resells Sabelt stuff.

And Sabelt does make seats, FIA homogulated, etc. The only thing is that noone in the US sells them--something I've been thinking about correcting.
