back-to-stock question while i continue to search
hey everybody.
d16a6 block with z6 head.
i am considering swapping out the z6 head for an a6 head.
im really new to "mods" of this caliber but i have no choice but to do it myself.
question, what all do i need for this swap?
do i need some kind of harness for the conversion, or is it just a matter of removing the existing conversion harness(s). im not exactly sure what im talking about which makes it a little tougher to learn on my own. im not sure what all has been done by the previous owner so its making it difficult to find a starting point
i can post pics of my current setup if it would help.
thanks for reading.

if your z6 head has been properly swapped, is not warped, burning oil, anything like that, then why switch back to the a6? Just wondering.
wondering the same.
and depending on if there are jumper harness' or its actually spliced into the og harness would determine how hard it will be.

thanks for posting guys.
im unable to determine what the issue is with my current setup but it runs very poorly. while driving one morning, the engine lost power and the exhaust note became slightly louder and more sharp and poppy (imagine an old gas mower).
ive done plugs, wires, cap, and rotor, the o2 sensor, i've done a valve clearance adjustment and also reset the timing. i think the issue may lie within the ignition timing still but im unsure how to fix it.
i've acquired an a6 head figuring i'd be better off installing that and going from there. i know its kinda backwards as far as typical performance enhancement but thats not exactly the focus.
i need this car drivable asap and my budget requires a DIY solution. to make things more difficult, my experience requires something covered in my haynes manual.
honda-tech is a friggin awesome resource but im having a hard time getting anywhere.
