white smoke coming from exhaust
I was wondering if anyone can give me a better idea whats going on. I have a 88 crx with a obd0 b16. I have white smoke coming out of the exhaust when its reved up high, when im on the freeway for a while and I get off and the car comes to a idle again smoke starts to come out. I did a compression test and they were all about 185 psi. im wondering if its coming from the vavle guides or the rings. I dont think its a head gasket, the car runs strong, no oil in the water or water in the oil. its been like this for a couple of years. Please tell me what you think
Have some tolerance b/c its a 20 year old car. Its normal that valve seals or piston rings will have some oil getting past them especially when you take the engine to its limit.
Its not going to hurt anything as long as your oil level is in check. You can get the entire engine rebuilt but if the car is running strong and you have good comp. numbers, I really wouldn't worry about it.

I know its not going to hurt anything its been like this for a few years. I want to fix the problem. It a little embarassing when you come to a stop and white smoke is coming out of your car.
it's not piston rings or valve guide, because engine oil burns blue smoke, only coolant or brake fluid is white smoke, check for head gasket leak and cracked cylinder side wall, brake booster leak brake fluid is not common but there's a chance, do a cylinder leakage test, then you will find out the problem.
