Just purchased 93 EX Coupe Manual
So yesterday I purchased a 93 EX Coupe manual. Gotta love craigslist. 113k, for $500. Steal of the century, I know. Body ain't great but here are my initial questions.
1. Infamous rear-quarter panel rust....I have it. I am not looking for resale potential here, just a clean look. Are there any solutions for under $500?
2. The revs are slower to drop than in my old '01 EX with i/h/e. I was thinking of a clutch/flywheel upgrade. Will this help? If not, does anyone have ideas?
3. I am looking at going the N/A route, strictly daily driver. Aside from the obvious i/h/e, will raising compression directly result in a rise in HP?
4. I am curious as to whether or not a cam upgrade will result in a much peakier power curve.
I am probably the noobest of noobs, i just joined 5 minutes ago. I just sprayed myself with some flame retardant, as i know inevitably I have broken some rule by posting what i posted. However, know that I have already spent hours researching these topics, to no avail. Flame on. Get it out of your system. Just don't forget to follow it up with some knowledge. Gracias.

Wow. So far 45 people have deemed the post worthy of viewing, and then deemed the content unworthy of replying too. 45 people. Go ahead and school a noob people. Jeez. Otherwise what is the point of this?
yeah, for a quick fix, sand and bondo and paint. the sand aand bondo will be cheap, and maaco paint the whole car, thats under 500.
Yeah it will help, if you get a lighter flywheel.
raising compression will result in a higher hp, better fuel economy, but you will have to use a higher octane.
peakier curve? like less hp throughout the rpm range to create a high hp #????

Thanks for your response. Are rear quarter panels expensive to find and difficult to install? I have always heard bad things about bondo, but am open to it. From what I understand, gains from cam upgrades correlate to a narrower powerband, which isn't attractive to me.
I think I get a limited # of posts since I have a trial membership, so don't think I have left the thread if i don't respond. Thanks again.

Rear quarters will cost more to do because most likely youll have to pay someone to cut and weld on a new one.... Bondo is fine, just bondo and sand it to line up. will take time... Cams, from what i understand, basically moves your powerband to either the upper rpms or lower or mid.
