i searched, could'nt find much but on google search i found some type of led interior lighting kit thats universal and you replace dome light with it, anyone have any info on upgrading to stronger, brighter interior lights, the little one dome light on the crx is so weak, i had a rental car recently which was a hyundia sonata, i could not believe the difference, i could actually see what i was doing inside the car at night!, most newer cars have a little light by each visor in the center with a button to turn on or off, then a bigger brighter dome light that fills the interior with light and sometimes even additional ones.
i just can't see crap with the dome light, i can't barely go through cds at night, or anything else, there has to be ways to upgrade, anyone??
actually lots of newer cars have lights on each door on the lower area and even lights up the floormat area, and a light in glovebox, etc.....and so on and so on .....
i just realised how lacking the crx is in this department, just was wanting to try something to make better.'
any ideas?

my brother gave me a lil blue light bulb that he took from his prelude and it works MUCH better. I'll see if he still remember where he got it from (its like 5 years old)
These are 2 options I cant remember which one i got. But the piaa looks nice. Just make sure its the right one for your car.

a better bulb is a good idea.
you can also use aluminumized tape and cover the plastic behind the bulb to create a reflector to utilize more light. just dont short the contacts. but it only helps just a bit.
the problem is that theres no dome light in the front. JDM domelight is probably the best bet, but not cheap and hard to find.

Yeah I know what you mean, I went nuts on lighting a while back and tried a few things out.
For the dome light the single bulb (festoon)LED's suck there just arent enough LED's in them. So what I found was just a square with 48 leds on it

this requires a little bit of modification to fit the bulb (Height wise), but the new SMT LED's that they have now look a bit slimmer.
scroll half way down the pagehttp://autolumination.com/festoon.htm
I wrapped the contacts with electrical tape because the bulbs and wires are very close. I use a bit of tape rolled around itself(sticky side facing out) to hold it in place.
this picture doesn't do it justice. lighting is hard to gauge in a photo but here it is.

I'm very pleased with the results
I also did this to the hatch light. I also moved it higher (under the cargo cover bracket) and tilted it towards to middle of the hatch
I also made glove box light out my AC button and a brake light switch. The AC switch has a Tiny bulb in it. So carefully take the cover off of switch, you will need to unscrew the tiny bulb to get the cover off, look for little round white thing with a slot in it.
Then the wiring, i just used the AC plug/wiring because I dont have AC, it needed to be extended a bit. Only two (positve and ground)of the four wires on the plug are needed, i forget which. I believe the switch can go on the ground or positive
(experts chime in) and mouting is simple, there's a strip of metal that runs behind the glovebox and its just the right distance away so when you open the glovebox the light comes on.
Mounting the light is tricky, you have to get it to aim inwards and but not too much so that you can see it. I made a tiny bracket out of a paper clip or some wire, being able to bend it around came in handy when trying to find the right spot.

Are you talking about the JDM Map Light?
I'm wanting to get one of these as well. You usually see them for sale with the JDM Glass Roof.

I though of making a front map light out of some old dome light, but after putting the LED's in it just doesn't need it. $25 for the bulb isnt bad especialy compared to what a jdm map light might cost, plus the map light has the same run of the mill light bulb that your dome light already has.

They are spendy and if it makes it brighter you're way thats all you need. Thanks for sharing you're info.

I think this is a really good idea if your not willing to wire in a LED block. I bought a kit from http://www.interiorxenon.com/ which are much brighter then my old bulbs but are still just not bright enough. I think the aluminumized will work well with xenon bulbs.

the LED's that I posted dont require any wiring they are "plug and play". what you see in the picture is just the wires comming off of the LEDs wich have the festoon bulb contacts at the end of it (which isnt in the picture) this allows you to aim and adjust the light.
it looks like this

I tried those xenon bulbs too they are pretty much the same as the OEM bulbs.
