Im going to buy some 99-00 tail lights but I want to smoke them to make them darker, what should I use? I think it is some kindoff paint? Thanks
well the way i did the lights on my crx is first: you have to wet sandur tail lights to have a clean surface to spray the paint on..obviously you let them dry..and you have to mix black paint with clear coat and alittle hardener...it depends on how dark you want your lights which determines the amount of black paint you put in the mix..
you should spray it on a a different surface to get the right shade your looking for..

THIS IS HOW MINE TURNED OUT...

Vinyl tint or window tint film has the ability to be easily removed with not so much work, to get a good job on spray tint you need to sand the light, spray, sand, spray and then depending on how many coats then a clear with a light sand and a second clear....
I've purchsed the ebay precut tint vinyl and while it did work to a point, the smoke texture was uneven (like it was sprayed onto the tint or something) and in the act of applying the film the little plastic strait edge I was using to get the bubbles out (A PAIN) was scratching/maring the exterior surface of the film which bugged me...

I bought red clear eg tail lights - sanded them, taped off all the red with blue painter's tape, then used testor's (model paint - color = transparent black window tint) sanded , sprayed, sanded & sprayed clear... i did the same to an oem edm rear fog. then I used plastix plastic polish.
they came out pretty good... with a gray/smoke color... not blacked out like the rex above
