Default Best Coil-Overs for Turbo?

Ive looked at a bunch of companies and can't really decide what will be best for my car. I want something that will give me the best possible traction on the streets and drag strip. Im getting the ESP traction bar and Progress rear sway. So what coil-overs are my best bet? The price is less of a concern than the functionality.

best coil over i would say is ground control.

but you want good shocks like koni yellow which are adjustable so you can soften it up for the streets or firm it up for the drag or track.

now if you want traction get some lsd and wide tires....make sure your clutch can handle the power also, but just lowering you car and getting some motor mounts will eliminate the wheel hop if that's what your after...now whell spin is another story

Yea, motor mounts, lsd, new axles, and bushings are going to be in. I heard from a few people that the GC and Koni was good but i didnt know if it was going to be the ideal setup. So im assumeing that the 400lb springs all around would be the best fit as well? Any other option and opinions.

IMO, Koni yellow with GC. You want higher spring rates in the rear if you will be at the drag strip.

You need higher spring rates in the rear and in the front... not just the rear.

Are you talking about coilover sleeve kits or true coilover kits?

I would say best bang for you buck is the Ksport Kontrol Pro kit. Pm me and can get you a kit for a good deal.

I own this kit on my 3rd gen lude and is outstanding. Night and difference from coilover sleeve kits only.
The springs are built to combine both daily driving and light strip use and the strut itself has 0-36 dampening adjustbility. If you want stiffer springs you can order your spring to be 3kg higher from the stock spring rate.

It honestly doesnt matter unless you are fully built running way over 250whp. Just get slicks for now.

Dont listen to travis... Suspension is important no matter how much power you have. That same 250whp could get you a high 13 or a low 13 just off suspension and tires alone.

Laugh if you want but im trying to build a 700hp drag monster with a moderate 400hp street tune. Does this help.

He is laughing at youre description of the coilovers, because there is not such thing as a turbo coilover. Just coilover kits or coilover sleeve kits.

wow 400 on the street and 700 on the strip? how fars the build and why haven't we had any progress threads? pics or ban !

but yeah, depends what you're looking to get out of it and what your budget is. if you have some stiff track coilovers, u'll feel every bump in the street. just do more research on your options. Tein makes full coilovers ranging for functions, if u got the money then you could go with Zeal.

generally speaking you want a rear biased(aka stiffer in the rear) suspension, you can go with full body coilover, sleeveover or just a custom length and custom spring rate spring. Correct me if i am wrong but if you launch(sorry, don't have any fwd car, let alone race them anymore) a fwd car you want the weight keep in front vs having it shifted to the back axle and one of the easiest way is to run a stiffer rear spring rate(or a wheelie bar)

if you are going all out for 700hp, there's about ...actually there's hardly any "perfect" off the shelf coilover to be honest. The OTC gc and koni might or might not be a suitable combo, generally they are good for spirited street(but again, it's a cheap setup with future improvement possibility aka revalve, shorten, etc) and weekend hpde. For examply the OTC damper valve on a s2k is actually softer than stock(ap1), pair it up with a stiffer GC or any lower spring and you'll running under dampered

I don't own a prelude or know enough to say what's a good coilover but for my honda there's couple of great coilover which you can look to see if they make a prelude application: ohlin, KW 3 clubsport, J's racing, Tein SRC

or even just give control a call to see what kind of rate works best for you, they probably know more or work with more prelude than any h-t member here.

good luck

thanks iam7head, this helps alot. dagle, there arent any threads up about it because im still getting everything lined up and asking questions. (like this thread!!) But i will start posting up a progress thread once i can start getting the big stuff. As of right now my block was built by Inline Pro, and my turbo kit is most likely going to be built by RLZ Engineering. Other then that, im going to be running a Borg Warner turbo, and trying to put down some serious numbers with that.
