Default B16 swap in DC

I'm sure this has been covered before but searched and couldn't find much info. I found a pretty cheap b16 for sale that i wanna jump on and boost so Is it pretty straight forward as far as parts from my ls bolting up to the b16..Axles and what not. Also what ECU would i need since my car is obd1. I am going to have some of my buddy's help me so I'm in good hands just trying to read up on the swap. I am going to have to use my LS tranny also. Though would like a b16 one, the ls long gears are better for boost? any input on the swap and turbo would be greatly appreciated. Though i would like a gsr motor the only local one i found had a comp of 11.8:1 compared to the b16 9.5:1 Thanks Erik.

Leave your LS and boost it. LS take boost like a champ. And the ls tranny with it's longer gearing is great for boost. I don't think you will be happy with a boosted b16. I think the ls can handle more boost with less work than a b16 would...

But if you wanna do that, everything will bolt up, I think you may need the bracket for the mount, but that's about it. Since they are both b-series, pretty much everything is interchangeable. Also you can use any obd1 VTEC ecu to run that motor.

Well i just blew a HG in my LS and found a stress crack in the block so lol. but as for the b16 its pretty nice setup for 1250.

its a b16a out of a 99 civic si, its fresh pistons, rings, bearings, gaskets... it has arp headstuds, cometic headgasket, and skunk2 intake manifold,
also found out hes throwing in a chipped obd1 p28 so that takes car of my ecu question.

i think if you really want to go boost you can get a sleeved ls with a new crank and pistons for about 1400 or so if you look around and right there you are a little less hp with way more torgue, and then you boost and you can safely run about 10-15 with a tune on that and you will dust what ever you could have gotten on the b16, and reliably, just my $.02

That's a good deal for a b16a2, and it's been rebuilt? Buy it for sure.

so much of this wrong.
#1 he didnt ask about turoboing his LS
#2 Myth: LS trannies are better for BOOST. WRONG!(it depends on your setup on wether a different transmission should be used.
#3 you don't need any brackets you clown. and no you can't use any OBD1 vtec ecu. would you use a p72 gsr ecu to run a b16? NO

Get some more research done before writing **** you don't know about.

Found another b16 for 1200
Its a b16a2 with eagle hbeam rods, srp 8.5:1 pistons and its bored 0.010 over. All acl bearings and arp head and rod bolts. Fresh paint and 0 miles. What do you guys think, it just needs VC, cams, and injectors. I happen to have b16 cams, vc and one of my buddys said he would give me injectors.

Due to the shorter deck height (i.e. more stable block) and less severe rod angle(i.e. less lateral stress on the cylinder walls), the B16 can actually handle more boost than a lot of people think (when properly tuned of course). I've put B16's in DC's before and the result was pleasing. The DC isn't significantly heavier than the EG's and EK's are, and a 95 Si hatch with two dudes and a couple of subs in the back will easily weigh more than a stock 95 RS Integra.

I see it as a potentially interesting combination that could yield very pleasing results.

Wow i am very glad to hear that, i usually just hear about the better flowing head lol, its just going to be a nice, reliable, quick DD so hopefully all works out good, still contemplating about boosting though, but i have always wanted a turbo car. just gotta figure out the pricing for everything.

Also contemplating an all motor B16 in my DC. Will the entire B16 engine and trans just bolt in? Is it really that easy?
