Clutch pedal switch A not connected?
I was looking around my clutch pedal and found that clutch pedal switch A(as its called in the manual) is not connected to any wires and even if it was theres a hole in the clutch pedal where the switch is supposed to contact the pedal.I was wondering whats the switch for and should it be connected?

There's two switches under there. One's for the starter (you need to depress the clutch to start it), the other is to disengage the cruise control if you clutch.
The one for the starter is probably jumped (wiring is looped) so that you don't have to press the clutch to start it. This is very common for people that want to have remote car starters for their cars, but have a manual.
As for the hole, I don't know, does your car have cruise control?
If so, and it's stock, maybe the person who looped the clutch switch originally drilled a hole out to avoid contact then realized it would be easier to loop the switch...or realized that if he does it that way he has to tape the button down in order to use it that way, opposed to just looping the wiring.

Yes. That said a friend of mine recently bought a JDM RHD '92 SiR-S, it never had the switch, i just happened to be under the dash cleaning when he first got it and i looked noticed it had no switch, upon closer inspection there is no evidence that it ever had one. This kind of irrelevant here i just thought i'd thow it out there. Was your car swapped from an automatic to a manual? people frequently don't wire the starting circuit correctly and don't bother with the clutch start switch.

Oh I see.Well as long as I've had my car its beens manual but it may have been automatic at some point.I've always wondered why some cars require the clutch to be pressed for it to start.Maybe in case its in gear...Well anyway thanks for the info.
