Default Help with motor rebuild * what parts*

Hey everyone,

I have decided to rebuild my 95 GSR and I am hopefully going to pick up a turbo to run 7-10 PSI. I was just wondering what would you guys reccomend rebuilding? Im thinking...

Forged Pistons & Rings
Rods & Bearings
Crank Bearing
Valves & Seals
Also all the gasgets

Is there anything im missing?

Thanks

rebuilding the top end of my GSR at the moment as well. my problem was oil consumption from bad guides and seals. eventually burned an exhaust valve. moving on to you. mahle pistons are on ebay in 9:1 or 10:5-1 compression for $380 with rings. mahle is the piston used in the GM C6-R at the rolex 24hr. it's probably overkill for 7-10 psi but the price is lovely. Rods, at your power level, just have yours measured and resize if need be. buy ARP rod bolts and main studs. same with the crank, grind if need be, most just need a polish and new bearings. in your cylinder head, ferrea 6000 valves are one of the best bangs for your buck. better than oem quality at oem prices. fel-pro has a valve seal kit that is favored over the nok seals. the springs you use should be matched to whatever cam combo you are running. as for the head gasket, either fel pro or honda. ARP head bolts are also a good idea. i've been doing research on this stuff all week.

ok...best forged turbo pistons out, i would say CP. cant go wrong with those. The best tuners and best builders in the country use those. Stick with 10:1, since it will give you a bit more leeway at lower rpms before the turbo spools. 9:1 would feel too sluggish before the turbo spools imo.

you pretty much got it...

let us know how it turns out.
