Default bad breaks

the breaks on my car are, well fading is a good word to describe it

coming to a stop ill break normally to a stop and all of a sudden the car is inching forewards (auto) so i have to press harder and harder
by the time the light turns green the damn break pedal is far back
farther than i ever remembering it

just wanted to confirm if this is a master cylinder problem or break booster problem

also, i dont know if its affecting anything but i do hear a vac leak kind of sound by the master cylinder area and my idle is pretty rough

When's the last time you changed your brake pads? Could be those too.
