The weirdest idle problem ever..
Just finished a h22 non-sh swap into my 97 SH, old motor was blown + the atts is lame. Got EVERYTHING plugged in, EVERY little plug etc has a hose and everything.
When the car starts cold, it idles good at 1k, then when it warms up, it immediately chokes and dies if your not reving the engine.
Anyone know what this could possibly be?
Edit:
Now that I think about it, could it have something to do with the throttle position sensor? I have thought about swapping the throttle body from my old motor onto it and seeing what happens.
Also how do you adjust the TPS?

Its simple really. You will need a multi meter.
There are 3 wires coming off the TPS. Stick the postive prob into it and ground the negative prob some where.
Turn the car to the ON postion, but not where the motor is running.
The tps setting should be at .45v-.5v.
You adjust the tps by losing the bolts and twisting it until you are inbetween the desired Volts.

You FITV is keeping the idle high enough to run while the car is cold, but the base idle is obviously too low to keep the engine running (once the FITV drops the idle down). Just try to set your idle higher with the screw on the TB and then check out your TPS.
If the TPS on the engine you swapped in is not broken it is probably OK. In order to adjust it you will most likely have to cut little slots into the break-away screws they use to put them in at the factory. Lots of trouble...

Fast Idle Thermo Valve
It is a valve that is full of thermo-wax that makes the car idle higher when it is cold (on startup) and once the car starts to warm up the valve closes off and the idle goes down to normal. It is located on the bottom of the throttle body.
Just FYI, a lot of modern cars use these, Ford, Chevy, Nissan, Mazda, etc etc.
