Default mini swap in a eg dx coupe need pionters

well basically what all will i need to do to the head or block etc to get it running right and v-tec popping

i got the shell and old motor but guess it's locked up and my boys gonna sell me his d16y7 block with a y8 head so yea help please thanks

bump come on i know someone knows a lil something to help me out
some one said something about a screw or tap or some **** like that to take out so the vtec solenoid can get oil some one guide me please thanks

when you take the head off theres an oil jet between cylinders 2 and 3, you need to remove this or vtec wont work.

No you don't.

The Y7/Y8 mini-mes aren't like the B7/Z6 mini-mes, you don't have to pull off the oil jet, I'm not sure what it is, but either the Y7's never had an oil jet plug there, or the Y8's get their oil a different way (than the Z6's do), but I'm 99.9% sure there's no oil jet plug there like there is in the B7's.

@ OP:
Just throw the head on it, wire up VTEC, and you're ready to go.

Your probably right on that, the only guide i ever read on a mini-me swap was for a z6/b7, i never realized the Y7s didn't have this jet.

Yeah, I figured that's what happened...if you look up any Y7/Y8 mini-me guide they don't mention anything about the oil jet block. I'm not sure if the Y8 gets it a different way, or it's simply not blocked off on the Y7 blocks.
