KONI 1150 threaded shock coilovers info.
Just got my new 1150-5006-1 threaded shock coilover set for a del sol, front/rear.
I feel I got duped by both JEGS and KONI themselves.
I have no problems with the shocks/springs, they are wonderfull stuff.
The thing that got my back up is that every photo both on jeg's and koni's sites and everywhere else come to that, show photos of what I now know to be "the early series" that show tight progressive 12 turn springs, with nice red top plates, complete with upper plates, bushings and bump stop rubbers. You actually get 9 turn springs.
This is NOT what you get in the box.
You get naked springs, with no rubbers at all, but you do get washers and a spacer tube for the upper bushes and two nuts. No upper coil plate or bump stops as pictured.
That's it, nothing else.
So I called JEGS and got "oh we just use the photos from Koni's site"
So I called customernosupport at Koni USA.
Spoke to a very rude guy that fealt the shocks belonged to him and he was doing me a favour letting me have a set. He keapt refering to them as "MY SHOCKS"
When I complained the photos are missleading he just says "you should have read the small print" the photos are for a MINI.
You have to use the upper plate from your stock shocks (which I don't have any more btw.
Also there are no brake line mounting brackets on the bottom of the front shocks at all, again, you have to hack off the old ones from the original shocks .............
WTF does this matter, they still show the rubbers etc.
This is one of my favourite gripes that even the manufacturers cant be bothered to show you an actual photo of what you are actually buying, not to mention most every other seller too.
NO spanner wrenches supplied either.
Oh, and lastly the darn instruction sheets are in German.
All this **** for over a grands worth of shocks isn't doing their reputation any good with me. They could learn a thing or two from some of the other high end shock makers as to what should be included in a "kit" made for a specific car.

That does suck. I know on TireRack it says "most approximate photo." But when you spend that much on something the service should be better. Either get a refund or just live with it.
Quick look round the net shows these manufacturers supply everything down to the pillow mounts etc in with the kits.
