97Civic Coupe Steering Column Issue...
Ok, I was missing the bracket that holds up the steering column, not the one that controls your tilt steering but that one that is like 6 inches lower on the column, It now has been replaced. My problem..... Still when I slow down it shakes the whole steering coulmn like crazy. I dont know what else to do. Everything is tight and I dont see anything that looks like it would be missing something. I have a beat axel on the driver side. Would this cause my dilemma or could it be anything else? Any help is appreciated. Thanx.
no its not bent!!! there is no boot on the axle at all,the side that goes in the hub.now will that cause steering wheel shaking while brakeing,i did pads,rotors...tie rod end is good, upper control arm is good to,

Regardless of whether or not its bent, running axles without a boot they really don't last very long, at this point its probably run dry and its now most likely full of dirt, i don't know if its causing your issue, but due to not having a boot i'd replace it anyway before it leaves you stranded somewhere someday.

Thats more likely the outer CV joint failing from lack of lubrication, i've seen CV joints grind shortly before they completely flew apart.
