Default 1990 hatchback master cylinder replace

I have a 1990 hatchback that needs a new master cylinder...i already loosened the 2 brake lines, and took off the 2 12mm nuts on the master cylinder that hold it to the brake booster....but for some reason, when i try and apply some minor force to break it from the brake booster it dosn't seem like its going to come of without something breaking......do i need to go inside and remove the cotter pin i see and pull it out that way or do i need to just give a swift kick in the *** and go med evil on that bitch? please let me know guys.

ha ha just replace my brothers, all you have to do is pull it straight out nothing will brake. Also you should upgrade to a 88-91 15/16 prelude master cylinder the lines are a little off but it brakes way better.

ok, so i even though it feels like it dosn't want to come off after i have removed the 2 bolts, ur saying to just go a head and push down and pull up on the MC till it pops out of the brake booster? did anyone else's MC give them this much fight? or did everyone else's just pop off easily?

yup its just tight because it probably has never been removed. just wiggle it out and you should be good. also dont forget to replace the seals.

lol, ya, its NEVER been replaced.....i could not use direct downward force or upward, i had to get a big old flat head screwdriver and pry that bitch off...then remove that half dollar sized rubber seal where the plunger is inserted into the brake booster....then bleed bleed bleed....

tell me about it i bleeding brakes is annoying. you should really upgrade your already halfway there .specially if your going to go buy the master cylinder.
