Im pretty sure your gona need a ecu then run a wire for vtec, not sure what ecu to use though haven't done much research on those motors yet, but there is also a pretty sweet search button. could be some helpful info there for ya.

Yes, you will need to run a P2P ECU (VTEC ECU from an EX). There's more information about the other specifics you will need to do in here:

Good luck with it.
Oh yeah, and if you need a P2P ECU I have one sitting on my shelf at home collecting dust I think. /shameless plug

u dont need new head bolts like the thread says unless u got money to spend. honda dealers reuse them when replacing head gaskets, just dip them in motor oil.
Alright well it looks like no one is doing the Y6 block with the y8 v tec head swap thing like i want to but from all my reading it looks to me like for the best bet i should buy the D16y8 head,Intake Manifold, and for the V-tec results that i want is to also get the P28 ECU outta the 99 or 00 Ex?????? let me know thanks for the help

i have dont this swap, and recently. use the p2p ecu, you need to fake a knock sensor, you can reuse the head studs. you need to run and pin your own wires for the vtec and knock sensor. pm me if you need all the details. oh and do the IACV fix, that didnt work for me but you have to none the less. so you also need the 2wire plug for that intake manifold IACV
