Default Ne catalyic converter, universal, need help on direction flow

Hi guys,
I bought a new cat today so I can pass smog; My question:
do These have to be installed in a certain direction, by exhaust flow I mean?
On one end it says: "Without Air". On the other end it reads" With air". If it is directional, I'm guessing the part that says "With air", goes to the header. Am I rite?
Thanks.
