I change it on 40% using synthetic. I wonder if I am changing it a bit early. :/

I always use Mobil 1 and change between 3k-5k. I just barely changed my oil with Mobil 1 extended performance (claims to be good up to 15k miles) and wondering if anyone has any insight about using this oil and how far to push this claim

I honestly think it's a waste to change out synthetic at 3k. But hey it's not my car or money right?

But about Mobil 1 extended performance:

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by www.MobilOil.com &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">ExxonMobil guarantees that the Mobil 1 Extended Performance lubricant you purchased will protect your vehicle’s critical engine parts from oil related failure for 15,000 miles or 1 year, which ever comes first. If not, provided the engine was serviceable at the time the oil was installed, ExxonMobil will have your vehicle repaired and replace the oil at no cost to you. Be advised that if your vehicle is covered by a warranty, you should follow the vehicle's oil life sensor or the oil change interval recommended in your owner's manual to avoid a disruption in your vehicle warranty.</TD></TR></TABLE>

That's just to make Honda happy, even though the oil can most definitely go 10-15k. Even regular mobil1 would be fine to go 7500mi with, probably more. Not really worth it since we all like changing our oil here, but if you forget, its peace of mind.
