Default Bumper Removal

Has anyone ever removed their front bumper? Im talking about just the big plastic molded piece, nothing more. I have to take it off to get my new license plate on. I know it involves taking out the turn signal lights. The old nylon mounts have screws rusted in them. (broke off both screw heads)

I had this same problem with mine, the mountings inside the bumper rusted and got loose so there was nothing to remove the screw with...so i just ripped off the old license plate and put the new license plate over the new screw...a shoddy job at best but it worked

Just to let ya know there are screws underneath your headlights, so you're gonna
have to loosen it up or take it off completely........

To remove your bumper you have to do multiple things.
1. Remove 5or6 screws that hold the bumper onto your front bulkhead. (top most bumper)
2. Remove the two screws (one on each side) that screw into your fender(rearmost part of the bumber on top)
3. remove the two 10mm wrench size (6mm bolt size) bolts that secure the lower most part of your bumper.
4. Remove all accesories that are mounted on the bumper and...viola! No mo' bumpa G!

My helms says there's some clips on the underside as well and doesnt say anything about the screws under the headlights.

I think there was about 12-14 screws you have to remove. I did this when we put on his JDM headlights. It was a BITCH-*** to remove. the 4 especially under the stock headlamps..good luck!

2 or 3 ppl helping you pull up on the headlight while someone with small and steady hands get underneath the headlights. You cant get it from underneath. You might need like a screw drill bit something small enough to fit underneath the small space to unscrew them. like I said GOOD LUCK!

any suggestions on how to get those honda/ clips off. i tend to use a screw driver and it just messed them up.. kinda strips them.. they i get a needle nose thing and yank them off. i always have to go buy new ones.. anyone know the best way to take them off. when you pop your hood you see them.. kinda like the clips in the back bumper too
