Default 240 whp Full-Race Civic chase down of 700 whp Ford GT

[edit]: It is a Ford GT, Not a Ford GT40.

Posting by request.

Before I get flamed, in years past my business was in ITR Expo sponser and I think half the people in this forum has bought a shirt from me at one time.

Went to Carguys at VIR last weekend. Some nice cars there including a souped up Ford GT. The owner was claiming over 700 whp and bragging about how no one has been able to catch him or keep up with him. I got tired of him bragging and decided to shut him up.

10 min video ~155mb
http://www.smallmountain.us/im...s.wmv

chitty quality smaller video ~18mb
http://www.smallmountain.us/im...s.wmv

He claimed he was going 160 to 180 in the straights. Judging by the video, I would say he is hitting 160. That car was just stupid fast in a straight line. And he had awesome fire *****.

Now that I have seen the vid. That was great.

I liked how you ran the proper line while the other guy was all over the place. It looked like either from his inexperience or otherwise, he blocked you a few unessasary times but it was nice when you finally got him. I thought for sure he was gonna give you a ricer fly by right after.
It was nice of VIR to have out the pointer cones. It must have early in the day. The Ford looked stupid fast in a straight line. I thought his exhaust flames where a nice touch.

Just watched the vid, awesome chase.

But I would have given him more pressure and stuck a lot closer to his rear bumper in the tight sections.

I suppose to take up 2 parking spots to avoid other cars from parking close and thereby preventing any dings or maybe he just can't park?

I thought the other guy was at fault. He should have pointed you by a full lap before he did. I'm sure his pride was getting in the way.

I do my best to pay close attn to whats going on both in front of me and behind me at all times. Due to the acceleration of your car, the couple times i saw you approaching i would just lift and hold to get you passed and keep things flowing.

Too bad we don't have any pictures from the parking on Friday night ... I still think I should have gotten my car on the stairs!

Props to Don for rollin' the GT ... too bad he is going to go home and tell all his "buddies" that nothing could touch him

Downloaded the vid, looked like a hopped up econobox desperatley trying to catch up to a stockish ford GT, I don't know that is just how I saw it. Highly doubt its putting down more than 500.
