Default Every time i launch i lose my alternator belt...

Hey everyone, i am having an odd problem with my alternator belt.

Every time i try to launch the car i will lose the belt. It will either shread or just pop off( this only happened once). I just cant figure it out, the engine is new with only 540 miles on it so far.

DFE assembled it for me here is a rundown of whats inside it,
H23A1 block,H22a1 head ,H22a1 crank,Mahle pistons,Eagle rods,

I am using the 5 rib pulleys from the h23/f22 because the car was originally an f22/auto. The engine mounts are from ESP and i am using their Auto to Man trans mount

I've checked the crank pulley and its tight and i can't see and belt aligntment issues.

The pulleys have to be aligned correctly because i drive around fine as long as i dont try to launch the car. I have dropped second gear many times and i dont lose the belt.

I am starting to think its the H23 crank pulley/dampner. Does anyone else have an idea?

some times a small crack on the edge of a pulley will throw belts when they spin up, and its very easy crack the side of those pulleys when youre installing an engine. check for that

rev your car at rest to 6-7000 rpm to see if that will take the belt off. Usually alignment cause it.

If its just popping off it sounds like its not on there tight enough. If its shreading off, you probally have a chipped or cracked pulley somewhere along the lines.

Rosko, i have stock brackets

Acid, It does a little bit of both shreds and pops, Its on there correct, the first belt lasted 500 miles 15 plus dyno runs. As soon as i did my first launch it came apart.

Now that i think about it i completely for got about my A/C comprssor clutch falling off on the dyno. I think i have a major issue here.....

Well it cant be that major. Its only an Acc belt issue here.

Examine all the pulleys, install new belt, and try some belt dressing.

Do you still have the A/C connected? If I was you, Id delete the A/C and sell it.

Also if your using a 5 rib belt on the H22a you have to make sure its aligned right if your using the H23 Alt. I had my H22 pulley which is 6 ribs, and the H23 Alt which is 5 ribs. So you have to set the belt tight on the left side of the H22a Pulley when facing the front of the car.

Other wise if ill set, over time it will shread itself cause its moving in a diagonal patteren.

I have been through 6 belts trying to figure this out so it is major. Its not just an accessory belt you kinda need the alternator.

I am using all 5 rib pulleys

I'm not sure about your setup but why would you ever use a mixture of 5/6 rib pulleys
