The Honda F22 Ticking!
Can anyone give me some info, on why and what I can do to get the ticking out of the motor? I was told that it could be from the cam? The rockers are all adjusted to specs. Its obviously an OHC, so its definately not rods. I even readjusted the rockers, and its still there. Is it possibly worn cam lobes? And will a new cam eliminate the ticking? If anyone has been succesful in this matter, your input is greatly appreciated!
Actually its all the time, I just notice it more when its idling since I hear it, when I dirve, the exhaust kinda over powers it, so I cant tell, but I am pretty sure its all the time. Its not super loud, not a knocking sounds, but a ticking sound. When using the old screw driver trick, it sounds like its coming from the number 4 or 3 cylinder, or both. the car doesnt run funny. It does have alot of miles on it, but I have done just about a complete over haul, minu new pstons, cam, timing gear). But new gaskets all around, so Im not worried about it blowin up or anything. Just tired of the ticking, makes it sound like crap. its doesnt get louder, its just consistent!
is ur valves adjusted??? mine was ticking after 160k miles, and after job it dont tick anymore, u cant barely hear it but if u really listen with ur eears on the valve cover then u can hear little noise
