Default B16a Head + B18c5 Block throwing cel 9 (cyp)

Ive got a 98 4 door civic with a B16a Head + B18c5 Block. Im running a 94-95 gsr ecu with the obd2->obd1 harness adapter. The problem im having is that it is throwing cel 9 (cyp) code, but i didnt have teh CAS installed. So i installed the crank angle position sensor and now it is still throwing the code, even with the CAS sensor installed. Do i need this sensor and why is it throwing the code? Do i need a different ecu? I know the 94-95 integras use the crank angle position sensor, so i would imagine the ecu is correct. I thought that it would run off the distributor for the crank angle? Any help is GREATLY appreciated, thanks

i dont think you know which sensors are which.

The CFK(crank fluctuation sensor) is on the crank on the oil pump on 96+ cars.
The CYP(cylinder position sensor) and Crank position sensors are in the distributor.
Try replacing the distributor with a known good one and try again.

if you are referring to the crank fluctuation sensor, if you are using a pre96 ecu
you dont need it

I have an excess engineering computer that has been reprogrammed for higher fuel curves and higher rev limiter, 10k rpm chip, but set to 9k rpm. every now and then when i drive it the rev limiter kicks in at 7 when it is set at 9. That would explain why it is throwing that code 9, but before it was throwing a code for the crank angle sensor reason being is because it didnt have one hooked up (it was running off the distributor, car used to be a dx auto- swapped to 5spd b16a then swapped out the b16a block to a b18c5). after we installed the crank angle sensor the code was gone but it threw the cyp code. would that explain why it ever now and then had the rev limiter kick in at 7k instead of the 9k it was set up? im sorry if i confused things, other then that the car runs fine. i guess i confused the cfk and the cyp and the codes earlier... thanks for your help , let me know what you think. oh ya, its a del sol distrubutor.

once again the CFK sensor doesnt do anything.
the crank angle and cyp sensors are in the distributor. if it worked before
and it doesnt work now, then something in the wiring has changed.

ALL sensors are in the distributor. so the problem is there or in the wiring.
