What does this plug go to?? '91 Civic
Took my dash off to help clear some room up replacing my pedal assy. and now, putting it back together, I can't seem to get my cd player to turn on. Checked the fuses first, and theres one that powers the clock/radio/int. light and maybe one other thing, and that fuse is good. Weird thing is, is that I took that fuse out, and they all still worked
.. Didn't understand that one bit.
But yeah anyways, can't get my cd player to power-on or anything, its like a 4-month old alpine so surely nothing is wrong.
I've got a plug here that I can't figure out where the f it goes, the plug on the left goes into the cig. lighter, where the hell does the bigger one on the right go??

Weird, I just can't think of where the hell the plug goes....I don't even know if it is why my player isn't working, but I can't figure anything else out.
And yeah, i've got it grounded using the shitty little wire built into the harness.

4 wires, one black/one yellow w/red stripe/one white w/green stripe/one white.

those plugs look like the cig lighter relay, and cig lighter (lighting).
your stereo harness plug should be the next plug coming off of that portion of the cabin harness (wide rectangular plug). is it plugged in, and is the deck plugged in too?
Is the power and ground good at the stereo harness plug?

Yeah I called a good friend of mine and he said it looked like the relay as well, but the relay is back up in the harness some, and the ground comes right off that same section of the harness. The relay plug has six prongs in it, whereas this mystery plug only has 4 prongs.
Yeah the deck is plugged in, and I don't have a tool to check to see if the power & ground is good, i'm going to check on that hopefully later today. I'm guessing the power isn't good, the ground has arc'd when I touch it against metal in the car, so it does have power going to it.
I still just have no clue what that plug goes to....thanks to everybody for trying to help me.

well that plug for the cig relay DOES have 4 pins not 6, the plug with 6 pins is for the dash brightness relay (its the only one with 6 pins in that area).
according to the helms manual.
and maybe I wasnt so clear on these plugs but BOTH of them are for the cig lighter one is the relay and the other connects to the harness on the back of the lighter ashtray area.
the relay should have been clipped to the stereo bracketry.

Ahh now that makes sense, so that plug not being plugged in isn't the reason for my stereo not working, thanks for clearing that up!
Not as concerned with the cig. lighter, use it every now and then to charge my phone is all.
Thanks!

Yeah he's right that's what it is. I thought about my EF and it has that plug going into a lil relay, clipped onto the inside of the dash near the cig. lighter.
