Default Does anyone know a gsr this well

well i have a 94 ls body but just got a 96 gsr swap
it was running kinda slow like a month ago
so i started gettin into it, i looked around i asked people at work.(i work at lexus)
and ive tried just about everything
the problem is when i am driving it runs ok when cold but when warms up
and reaches about 3500rpm it bogs and feels like a misfire but i just kinda has
a jerk forward motion to it
ive tried keeping the second stage open
ive tried replacing the map sensor
ive checked the cam timing.
i dont know how to check the ignition timing if anyone knows how to do that
and also im about to gut out the convertor
but ive looked into about everything and asked people that know about everything
ive even let them drive it and see
they say it feels like the fuel pressure is off but its not
i mean its alittle high but it wont do what its doing from that
i just dont know i need help bad

You should obtain a Helm manual. (Search google for "hondahookup manuals".) Are you running premium fuel as required? If not, the computer will retard the timing to protect the engine.

Give your boy a . Hopefully he isn't running a chipped P28 without the knock sensor input. No knock sensor plus regular fuel can lead to engine damage.

Sounds like fuel filter.

You said you checked pressure...but was this at idle, or driving down the street.
If not filter problem might look at tp/crank sensors. gl

I say change the cap and rotor, Plugs and injectors. You kinda just gotta trouble shoot things.

i hate it when techs use that "i'm a mechanic" defense.

even if you're the ultra hyper super duper master tech, you can still miss things and make mistakes. it happens.

anyway, if its not the fuel filter, it could also be something else fuel related, like an tired fuel pump, or a clogged fuel pump pickup screen.

like mr. anderson mentioned, it can also be sensor related. test them out individually since its always better to find the source of the problem rather than just remove and replace everything with no plan of attack. but you already know that since you're a mechanic.

As mentioned above, the fuel filter would be a good item to replace.

Does it only happen under wide open throttle? There is a white cap at the end of your fuel rail. It is a fuel pressure dampner. I had a problem with my car doing that on the dyno and the screw under that cap needed to be adjusted correctly. Don't hold me to it, but I believe I had to tighten it and then loosen it one full rotation. HTH!

Alright man not to try to add more useless things to try but, i had almost the same issue on my 98 about a year back which was traced back to a fowled tps sensor. My car bogged around the same rpm and was random just as you described. good luck and
