Will D16Y8 Dizzy work on D16Z6 Head? Any modifications needed if it does work?

no. z6=z6. y8=y8.

I'm relatively sure that every D-Series VTEC distributor is the same. So a Y8 dizzy should fit on a Z6 no problem.

bolt pattern is different. I believe the B7 dizzy bolts right up to the Y8 though.

What is the truth, because some say Y8 can go on a Z6 head but you must make cosmetic adjustments, and another person says that it is not possible.
