Reverse gear making noise????

Default Reverse gear making noise????

got a 98 integra gs. when put in reverse it make a weird whisling kinda noise.... kinda like it need new brake pad noise.... but only in reverse.....anyone got any idea what it is???

Well if it doen't happen when the clutch is pressed down, then it's the tob. It has nothing to do with the internals of the transmission, but the tranny has to be removed to replace it.

is this when u are stopped or moving??? Honda's have a reverse whine when moving, thats normal/typical...

every honda/acura that ive driven, from integras to civics, CL, TL and RSX; all make a "whizzing" noise when u go in reverse.

no it's a high pitch noise that's like it's time for brake pad but only in reverse

yea kinda hard to tell what kind of noise it makes from just verbal description...
the reverse gear is loud in the first place, plus you dont use it that much

have u checked the rear pads? If it is a high pitched noise in reverse it could be your rear brakes. The inner pads may be worn even if the outboard pads look ok. chances are if it is a throw out bearing it will happen in every gear wneh clutch is depressed.
