89 CRX B20B block with B16A head help
I got a Pr3 ecu in my setup and the car runs fine but one problem. No V-tec, and I that No Knock sensor, no Vtec. I need help if anyone ever had the same problem about getting Vtec to work. I know that I need to get a knock sensor, I don't have one. Is there a way to trick the Pr3 ECU to think that I have a KS signal so vtec would work. What is my solution to get Vtec????
yes, This b16 head was from a known good working condition. I have don't many Vtec Hookup, I haven't had any experience working with a PR3 OBD0 b16 ECU. I'm 100% positive that the ECU is looking for KS signal to activate Vtec. somehow the B20 Block doesn't have a KS, so my guess is to tap the sensor somewhere but I don't have a KS. If I can and possible, if the PR3 can be disable by some kind of Resistor or Diode, I would to that to disable the KS and have Vtec.. With this, I think it's like a trick to the ECU that I have KS so Vtec would work.
Yes, its looking for the Knock Sensor, Since you dont have one VTEC wont engage. You either have to tap the block and install a knock sensor or get it tuned out.
Does anyone or have anyone ever tap it, How does it work in comparing with Ks signal. What does it mean to tap it. (I'm asuming to tap the KS wire from the ECU to a ground on the Engine????????))))
no tap it as in drill a hole out in the block most people use the alternator bracket hole and drill it out larger then tap it as in make threads for the knock sensor then screw the knock in and bam it will work. ill try and find you the write up.
