Default ferrea valvetrain gains??

ok, as most of you know i have a d16z6 sohc vtec with a drag gen 3(look at sig.)

now my question is this: i just bought a full ferrea valve train.
1mm bigger intake valves.
1mm bigger exhaust valves.
heavier valve springs.
titanium retainers.
and the head has been PnP, also full gasket and port match..

i spent about 1000-1100$ and i was wondering what my gains will be from this.... if anybody has had exsperieance with this setup..
can i look forward to about an easy 50whp and a higher revlimit now that i have better valve springs??

any input would be much appreciated....... i am just tring to see if it was worth the money to do all this
thanks
brian

I have the same valvetrain but i really didnt notice much gains just safer in my opinion.

I saw a slight change maybe 10hp

damn...so i spent all this money and i am only going to see 10hp from a PnP and a full valve train build up???? man that is like a totoal waste of money for the amount of power i am going to get.. could have bought an NX kit and easily have added that HP to my car alot cheaper...
what are the benefit then?? can i rev higher?? the bigger valves dont make a hight flow rate??

they safety is something i would be proud off. You easily can take your motor 10k rpm safely with out having any issues. AT that power band you will gain your hp back. But juts for the street you probably only see 10hp gains. But if you take it past 8500 you gonna see big gains on a good built motor.

with the upgraded valvetrain the head can handle the higher rev's better but you can only benfit from reving high if power is made that high.
on the stock cam i doubt it will make power that high ( i can be wrong), you may wanna look into either the zex cam *jfk78 has it in his sohc turbo setup* or the crower turbo cam..

hope that helps

10hp seems low for even an NA car with a PnP. I have seen turbo Accords with a PnP and 10lbs of boost gain upwards of 30 hp easily.

this is kinda offtopic but if i upgrade the valvetrain on an ls will i still be able to rev as high, I know the crank is the limiting factor.

i should know, im getting a complete headjob done with my motor work and the turbo setup...one thing im wondering man, why such low compression pistons, if you dyno tuned your car for as long as you said you did, you could have easily gone with a higher compression piston and made more hp........?

stock head, no headwork, stock valves and ferrea springs/retainers.

all u need for 600 hp+

a car i know of that puts down ridiculous horsepower numbers uses a scotchbrighted head to go low 9s. No gridning of the ports at all.

Yes. But since our cars have such a high stroke, we will never have to worry about that.
