Agreed. My first "mod" for every Honda I have ever had is tires. Most important parts on your car. What's the point of starting engine and suspension work if you can't transmit their improvements to the ground? Plus, you always have alright new tires sitting around if need a replacement in a pinch.
I had no complaints on my stock tires, but I had the summer tires : Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2s. I'm guessing everyone else in this thread had the regular tires. The PE2s were a really nice tire, and they lasted longer than I thought they would. Nice wet/dry traction, would've bought them again but I got a really good deal on a set of Dunlops.
the all season are terrible. quiet yes very quiet. 40k miles out of them def. $200 wholesale on tirerack!!! i cant wait to put on some Goodyear All seasons. Cant remember the full name.

yeah those tires are crap, no good at all. And dont even get me started on how they drive in the rain... I nearly ended up in the ditch a few times b/c of them. I got some ventus hr11. And they are great, no probs at all so far and ive been giving them hell.
I got the PE2s. They are nice but I wouldn't get them again. Lots of better summer tires out there for the money IMO. Even the RE-01R is the same price as the PE2 on tire rack and that one is a whole different class in terms of performance. I tried the base Michelins on my uncle's RSX-sand they are indeed garbage. Even worse than the re92 that came stock on my old prelude.

alot of places sell them within a few dollars of that price, like edge racing @ $107

they are currently sold out
Discount Tire gets $135 for that tire in that size.

In the original thread I was referring to Michelin Pilot MXM4. Azenis would be a great upgrade, I run them on the Lotus as a good performance/price tire.
13k miles and i need new tires already... i got told that yesterday from the dealership... i guess its time to get new rims
Need help picking tires for my '06 Civic Si, i wanna keep the good steering response on curves, and the ride comfort i got with the Michelin Pilot MXM4 that came stock but good for the snow in NY its not a lot but sometimes it gets bad. I wanna hear any good ideas, any tires out there can match what i need?
I just got a set of 225/45/17 Kumho Ecsta ASX. I was just wondering if anybody had any experience with these and tell me how they were. Thanks
