Default Legal problems with my HIDs....?

Next week im ordering some 6000k HIDs for my DC. i was originally going to get the 8000k but most say the deeper blue will get you pulled over. I will not be doing a retrofit. Straight plug and play. So you guys think that if I aim it properly and ****, I wont have any problems? I dont wanna blow $160 bucks to have to take it off the next day. You know? Cali has really strict road rules

Any help is appreciated

MOST cops won't give a [freak] even though they're all illegal regardless of what color temp you go with. But you do know that the higher the color temperature, the less light output you get and the gayer it looks, right? Check out what people have to say about it in the lighting forum

All hids inside of a halogen headlight is illegal. including retrofits. i had my hood popped before and they spotted my ballasts and i just told they were 4300 and they're just white with no blue. got away with that

Aftermarket HID's are Illegal. It really depends on the cop and their schedule, If their bored they'll harass you with it. I've had HIDs for afew months, I almost got pulled over as the cop was ahead of me, He pulled over and turned on his lights and i just made a quick turn into a parking lot and he just left. That was a close call. I had 4300K HID, Which is just white, No blue. Good luck

I worked for the Oakland Police Department for 2 years so I had HID's during that time and afew cops made a comment on it. Pretty much telling me they were illegal... But afew cops have them aftermarket on their cars like a RSX-S, A ridgeline and TC...

Those look sweet.

Well, i placed my order today so now I just have to play the Waiting Game. Cant wait! Since none of you have had any problems with cops and **** and especially in cali, Im not too worried about it no more. Only thing I am still worried about is aiming it properly to not blind people.

Last night after work, this Civic is on the oncoming lane with these blue HIDs starring directly at traffic! Everyone infront of me were flashing they're high beams at him and for a few brief seconds, I could not see ****! not the ppl in front of me nor where the road is. [freak]ing *******. I dont want to cause that to other people. I'll post pics when they're here though.

I had HID's in my del Sol's stock headlights...the only time I was pulled over in that car was at 3:59 AM as I pulled into the parking lot at work. He didn't mention the headlights or even pop my hood--I got a ticket for my window tint being too dark.

I think headlights are pretty low on the list for CA cops/CHP, it seems they're mainly concerned with illegal swaps, tint, loud music, and of course the big killer (sarcasm), driving over the posted speed limit.

youll most likely being doing that to other cars also since the glare & cut off would be terrible & the light would be reflecting everywhere unless you retrofit an HID projector.

I've got tsx projectors + housing for sale if anyones interested :D

i've got 4300k foggies and never gotten a ticket/asked about. but i did get pulled over once, cop told me my high beams were on... i said nope, flipped on the h.b.'s and said now they're on. he didn't walk in front of the car though... just said "oh your headlights are just really bright, drive safe" and i went on my way.

I've got the aimed really low, but it glares off to the sides high and i can't stop it. i hate suv's with aftermarket hid's... blinds the **** outta ya

Well, the integra comes with stock projectors, not reflectors headlights. I figured they would not be so bad as long as I aim them right.

you'll be fine, I have them on my teg and don't have a bad glare problem, The key is that there going to have to be aimed right. If you just put them in there going to be off, Thats the biggest problem. I compared mine to a customer retro fit with tsx and its not that big of a diffrence. His cut off line was nice but it lit the road the same. I'll stick with the pnp because If I want to go back to stock its a easy swap if you have to.
