gsr swap for 2 weeks, no vtec =[
i just recently did a gsr swap in my 1997 honda civic dx. i am running an obd1 gsr with and obd1 gsr ecu. i used my stock dx harness(wired up knock, vtec and pressure switch) and then used a rywire jumper harness(obd2a-obd1). The car starts up and runs perfect, doesnt burn any oil, but vtec doesnt kick. Im running a primary o2 code.i replaced the o2 sensor disconected the battery and ran the codes again and still have the code. i dont know if the code has anything to do with my vtec not kicking in but i figured i would give as much information as i can. I have oil so its not the oil pressure, its all wired to the right spots(checked many times)the solenoid is plugged in, pressure switch is plugged in,everything should be up and ready to go..
please if you could give me any information or if i missed a link when i was searching(before i made this post) that would be greatly appreciated.
having a gsr without vtec is like having a house with nothing in it.

thats what i thought and then i went and jacked my friends car and unplugged the o2 sensor and his kicked. is it different for jdm?hes running a jdm ecu. but thanks for the info
lol. i learn something new everyday, no o2=no vtec. is that code the only code your getting? I forget, does the dx have the 4 wire or the 5 wire? or the 1 wire? if it doesnt have the 4 wire o2 then you need a new harness, try getting your hands on a gsr harness. thats only if your o2 sensor isnt the 4 wire one=].
