Noob Question, what is EG/EK/EJ?
So I already know this is probably a dumb question,
but what do EG/EK/EJ mean? I know there are different body styles, and different trim levels, is it like 2dr, 4dr, and hatch? If it like that why doesn't everyone say 2dr or 4dr, instead of this E stuff?

Those are chassis codes.
EJ1 is a 5th gen coupe.
EJ8 is a 6th gen coupe.
EH2 is a 5th gen Si hatch.
EK? is a 6th gen hatch.
Those are just some of the more commonly used chassis codes.
The reason people use it is because it explains it a bit better, a bit faster.
Though, here on H-T, people often mis-use them. An EG is actually a del sol, but sometimes, people refer to all 5th gen ('92-'95) civics as an "EG" and all 6th gen ('96-'00) civics as "EK."
For a full list (or close to it), see the following link:

This list is more accurate:

Please ignore to the codes in the above post. I appreciate the link, but the descriptions of the codes he posted are a bit too broad.
(In the US
EJ1 = 1993-1995 Civic 2D EX
EJ8 = 1996-2000 Civic 2D / 4D EX
EH2 = 1992-1995 Civic 3D CX / DX / VX
EK = Certain 1996-2000 Civic 3D and 4D which are not sold in the US
As far as "EG', as mentioned before, a lot of people will use that to refer to any 5th gen (1992-1995) hatch or sometimes to refer to ANY 5th gen at all. The same goes for "EK", but it's for 6th gens instead.
"EJ" is a bit more confusing since it covers two generations of Civics in the US alone. Nearly all US 6th gen Civics are EJs though, while all US 5th gen coupes are EJs. The only 6th gen Civics in the US that are not EJ chassis are the EM1 and EN1.
I believe I've gotten all the models covered in this section (besides five-doors and Aerodecks) in this short little list. I'm primarily into 6th gens though, so I'm sure I screwed up somewhere. Plus some of these codes are hard to come by.
I'll edit this post if there is more information to post in it.

Thank you NOFX for coming to the rescue with the full specific facts once again. I swear, your database of Honda specs is insane.

No problem. I know it can be really easy to mix up chassis codes. There's still a few I mix up all the time. I'm waiting for someone to correct me on the above.
