Default Rebuilding My Civic *Some advice please*

Ok... heres the thing. I blew the block on my 00 si, the head is fine. Apart from a couple other little things I used to help my friend build his B16a obo 0. I would like to build of an LS Vtec (N.A) or possibly a B20 with the Vtec head... sorry not familar with the B20's. So I just need advice on which would be a better option, because I know the B20 makes more torque 133-136ish but has as much horsepower as a normal ex civic. so what would be my best bet for an everyday driver. with the potential to run high thirteen at least. If possible.

Thank You

Try the hybrid forum, they specialize in builds like the LS/VTEC and B20/VTEC.
