Default dizzy rotor screw fell out, fixed, now sounds like WRX, bad miss

what's up everyone? problems set in here. on the way back from the beach my CEL light came on and the car felt funny. power seemed down and there was a bad miss at idle. the best way i can describe it is the car sounds like a WRX. the CEL also blinks at idle. i check the obvious when i get home. find that my set screw in the rotor came loose and chunks of plastic are inside. buy a new rotor, install. no difference. the rotor was still on, just wobbly when i pulled the cap. i'll get a sound clip up in a few hours. also i plan to test the ICM and coil. i tested for basic spark and some is present on all 4 cylinders. spark seemed weak but it could just be me. codes present are the 1399 from misfire and specific codes are misfire cyl 1 and 3. the car is a 1997GSR BTW. if anyone has delt with this i'm all ears

while the car is running, pull each spark plug wire out one at a time. and listen for a drop note. when you pull one plug, the motor note should stay the same. if not, then you have a bad cylinder. like you mentioned, you said there were misfire in cylinder 1 and 3.

this exact explanation you described happened to my brothers integra. so check your injectors. the cause of my brothers was his injectors.

hope you figure out whats wrong.

check this video out. you can see me pulling the far side plug wire and no change in note. then i put the wire back on and the whole car dies. won't start again and i don't appear to have any spark now. i did the ignitor test with a test light with the + on the batt and the - on the coil neg. the light is DIM and i mean so dim you can bairly see it. isn't the light supose to flash? not just bairly flicker? if so i may have a dying ICM. it's either that or an injector. doing compression test in an hour but i bet it's the dizzy or injector.

interesting.

and as far as i know, the light doesnt flash.

so yeah, as stated, try replacing with new injectors. might be pricey. forgot how much for OEM's, but remembered it wasnt a nice price. haha.

X2 with the coil pulling the wires probably killed it. the light will flash if there is a catalyst damaging misfire happening

coil resistance is not within spec according to http://www.team-integra.net/se...=1114

i have 1.3 on the primary and 9.8k on the secondary

is this enough to kill the coil?

did you replace the cap, one of the contacts could have been messed up when the screw came loose

tested 2 cylinders & stopped. 90 psi on one and 15psi on the other. 15psi is screaming burned valve.
