Turbo for a 3.0 v6 Mr2, WARNING NOT A HONDA
So i've decided on boosting my recently completed 3.0 3vzfe V6 mr2
I was wondering what input you guys could give for what turbo to use.
Goals:
1. CHEAP
2. 260-300whp/tq
3. hardly any lag (full boost before 2500rpms, power up to stock redline 6850)
Turbo will be mounted in the trunk most likely, using a small intercooler if possible
Had a gt28rs w/ .82 hotside on a 1.9 built GSR civic in the past, liked it but would like a little more response...
Have a big T4 on the supra, love the power but hate the lag (weekend car with gt30 in its future)
The mr2 is the daily so i want to do this cheaply and make a really great street car...

words of wisdom from a former MR2 owner, you want cheap, fast, and reliable.
those three words do not go together in the same sentence, pick two...

i mean a cheap turbo, not some awesome BB GT30R (money goes to the supra) Something used ... cheap OEM but effective etc...
not going to cheap out on the tuning or fuel system stuff (duhhh)

hit up spoolin performance in the hondatech market place, im sure he could make you a nice manifold and downpipe for you application that wont decimate the pocket book

i'm going to make all my own piping/exhaust etc...

HONDA-tech.com, try mr2oc.com or toyotanation.com. Not to be a d!ck but we have enough "what turbo should I use for my b16/18, h22, f22, etc. setup" that adding other makes is just annoying and irrelevant.

Actually asking at a different site can sometimes be helpful. It keeps the retards that simply repeat popular info from wasting the OP's time.
Look at overall WHP goals, then look at what certain turbos can do. I'll assume it isn't 'built' - doesn't have aftermarket forged rods/pistons. 250-300whp would be attainable with a gt28rs or a 50trim t3/t04e at 15psi or so, or you could do it the right way - build a divided manifold, get a GT32 ($750), then have a broader power band and still be capible of almost 400whp. That turbo would get you everything you want - price, power, and less lag. FYI its turbine and compressor flow a bit less than a larger GT30. Just understand that it usually takes a lot of work & planning to get 4k rpm worth of powerband out of most motors.

Ok this might be a stretch but how about you use your old Supra turbos????

doing a twin setup would be to complicated... thought about it though
